Internet of things software development services for the layer above your hardware.
Your devices collect the data. Hoop Interactive builds the IoT software that makes it useful: the cloud platform, real-time dashboards, mobile companion apps and alerts that turn readings into action, working alongside your hardware and firmware team.
The hardware is ready. The software isn't.
Connected product teams are usually strong in electronics and firmware. Where projects stall is the software layer: receiving data reliably, storing it, showing it to the right people and acting on it.
Our role: we own the software layer, from ingestion to apps, and agree the device message format with your firmware team early.
- Data arrives, nobody can read it
- Readings sit in a database only an engineer can query.
- Alerts too late or too noisy
- Problems found by customers, or teams ignoring false alarms.
- Pairing devices is painful
- Customers struggle without a good companion app.
- The pilot doesn't scale
- What worked for 20 devices breaks at 2,000.

From sensor reading to the right decision.
Every layer above the device, designed together so data flows reliably and scales with your fleet.
What we build, and what your hardware partner builds.
Many IoT vendors claim to do everything. We're specialists in the software layer and say so. Don't have a hardware partner? We can introduce specialist partners.

Some IoT pages still list platforms that have been retired. Here's our approach.
| What matters | Typical IoT vendor | Hoop Interactive |
|---|---|---|
| Scope | "Everything from PCB to cloud". | Software layer specialists, with clear hand-offs to hardware partners. |
| Platform choice | Long logo lists, some long retired. | Current, supported platforms chosen for your fleet and costs. |
| Scaling | Tested with a handful of devices. | Load-tested with simulated fleets before launch. |
| Alerts | Simple thresholds, lots of noise. | Duration, combination and escalation rules people trust. |
| User experience | Engineering dashboards. | Dashboards and apps designed for operators and end customers. |
| Ownership | Per-device platform licences. | Your code, cloud and data, no per-device fees to us. |

About our IoT software development services. Ask us anything else.
An IoT software blueprint starts from $4,000. An IoT software MVP with data ingestion, a cloud back end, a real-time dashboard and a companion app for a pilot fleet starts from $20,000, and a scaled multi-customer platform from $40,000. Cloud and connectivity costs are billed to your own accounts.
Most IoT software MVPs take 10 to 16 weeks, starting with a working data pipeline from real or simulated devices in the first few weeks.
No. We focus on the software layer: cloud, data, dashboards, mobile apps and integrations. We work with your hardware and firmware team, or recommend specialist partners, and agree the device-to-cloud message format with them early.
AWS IoT Core and Azure IoT Hub suit companies already on those clouds and needing managed device identity at scale. A self-hosted MQTT broker such as EMQX or Mosquitto can be cheaper and more flexible for smaller fleets or on-premises needs. We recommend one based on fleet size, cost and compliance.
MQTT is usually better for devices that send frequent small messages or need commands pushed to them, because it is lightweight and keeps a connection open. HTTP works well for devices that report occasionally. Many platforms support both.
We design for your expected fleet and message rate, from a few hundred devices in a pilot to tens of thousands, and load-test with simulated devices before launch so scaling isn’t a surprise.
Each device gets its own identity, typically an X.509 certificate or unique credentials, all traffic is encrypted with TLS, devices only have permission to publish their own data, and dashboards and apps use role-based access with audit logs.
Usually, yes. If your devices already send data over MQTT, HTTP or a gateway, we can build the cloud, dashboards and apps around them without changing the hardware.
You do. Code, cloud accounts and all device data stay in your ownership, with no per-device licence fees to us.
